Thanks to Alex, Nick, and Terika out at JP’s in Holland for letting us jam on their Aurelia last night. Ryan, Laura, Josh (formerly of Local Mocha who is also competing in the GLRBC), and I all went to JP’s to try our hands at getting a feel on the Nuova Simonelli Aurelia that we’ll be competing on in the Great Lakes Barista Competition. It was a good time spent hangin with some coffee peeps and I feel it gave us a good idea what to expect using the Aurelia for comp. Yeah West Michigan!

Well, I run a coffee shop that employs and educates people with a mental illness or disorder in Melbourne, Australia and guess what !! The name of our cafe is MadCap Cafe…!! (Make A Difference Catering And food Production)or as I like it we make MAD CAPpuccinos!!!! Your coffee almost looks as good as mine!!!
I love your coffee…You’ll be interested to know that I stopped in to your shop because Biggby’s owner apparently overslept, leaving me to choose the next, better alternative:c) I ventured over to your website later in the day, only to find that, disappointingly, it’s outdated at least in one sense. There is a reference to you guys aiming to open the shop in November…It’s February now, and I know you’re open, but I want to know for how long and whether you offer free Wifi the way a lot of coffee shops do…None of that information is available at a quick glance, and I think maybe it should be. No malicious intent here…I just want to make sure you know that it effects your customers’ impressions of the shop to see a lack of upkeep on something so important as a website. As a Grand Rapids native, I want the small, innovative businesses in our community to be the best they can be!
